ABSTRACT

This research is aimed to study criminal profiling perpetrator of child sexual exploitation in Yogyakarta. The problem statement was applying to psychological knowledge in criminal profiling perpetrator of child sexual exploitation and to assist finding the runaway perpetrator from law action. The subjects of this research are four girls’ victim of sexual exploitation. This research used a qualitative approach, which data were collected using varying methods of: open observation, open interviews (subjects and informants) and graphic test. This was done to focus on multi-methods, multi-source and multi-contacts to satisfy the validity and reliability. Results showed that the four perpetrators which two of them were individual perpetrators and two others were syndicate (group) identified to had profile or special characters (biologist/physiologist, psychologist and socio-cultural) and determination (method and crime action, modus operandi and signature) in their crime actions. The perpetrators were attached with asocial/antisocial behaviors and addict behaviors (alcohol consumption, drug user and sexual addiction) which had high tendency to repeat their criminal actions. Due to the rule, all children sexual perpetrators were not revealed, get caught and brought to the legal processes. This inconvenient condition could bring to more child victims of sexual exploitation in the forthcoming.
