Abstract

Mother (parent) provide caring as an importance of child lifespan and developmental attachment security. This is also the contextual influences on the caregiver-child relationship. The purpose of this study is to explore the different instruments between the twice assessment (Q-Sort) of children attachment using TAS 45 and the maternal sensitivity using MBQS in Yogyakarta. The first study was done to 84 dyadic respondents in 2008, meanwhile the second study was done to 70 dyadic respondents in 2015. From the results it was found that the first study shows a significant relationship (sig. 0.001) of r = .75 linking to maternal sensitivity to child attachment. The second study shows a sig. 0.001 with r = .52 concerning maternal sensitivity and child attachment. The differences of correlation quantity could be caused by non-concurrent assessments, amount of respondents, parenting and family role, information technology stimulation, supportive home environment, child care and nutrition. This may indicate the importance of contextual determination needed to be explored such as indigenous and cultural strength to achieve optimum development potential for Indonesian children.
